Azerbaijan business e-Visa: prepare for a short business visit

Prepare the right application for your actual visit. A meeting or exhibition itinerary, a local employment assignment and repeated trips can require different planning.

Check my passport before applying

Does a short business visit fit the e-Visa application?

Our form includes a Business trip purpose for an eligible short visit. Choose the option that describes why you will travel, rather than selecting Tourism by habit. A visit for commercial discussions needs different preparation from moving to Azerbaijan to take up employment.

Start with your passport nationality and travel document. Then describe the actual activities to your company or host: for example, meetings with a supplier, an exhibition visit or a conference. If the visit includes paid labour in Azerbaijan, a long stay or another regulated activity, confirm the correct permission before using a short-visit application.

Business travel is not employment permission. An e-Visa does not authorise paid labour in Azerbaijan. An employer’s invitation, a faster package or payment for an application does not change that limitation.

This guide concerns the short electronic application available on evis.az. An embassy-issued business visa, a multiple-entry visa and employment permissions are separate procedures with their own requirements. Our package does not claim to provide all of them.

Prepare one consistent set of business-trip details

A business itinerary often passes through several people: the traveller, a company assistant, a local host and whoever arranges payment. Avoid having different versions of the passport, travel dates or accommodation circulating when you complete the form.

PrepareUseful cross-check
Travel passport and photo-page imageUse the traveller’s current passport, with the same names and number throughout. Our upload accepts JPG, JPEG or PNG up to 10 MB.
Purpose of visitSelect Business trip when it accurately describes the visit. A job title in the occupation field does not select the travel purpose for you.
Arrival and meeting datesMatch the intended visa start to entry into Azerbaijan, not simply the date of the first meeting.
Accommodation addressEnter where the traveller will stay. An exhibition venue or company office is not automatically the overnight address.
Reachable emailUse an inbox the applicant can access for updates. Check spelling before handing the record to a colleague.
Host or event informationKeep the relevant invitation, agenda or registration with your trip records. Confirm any additional requirements for your activity and chosen visa route.

The ordinary evis.az form requests the passport image as its document upload. That does not establish that invitations are never needed for any business visa or border check. If you are applying through a different route or have been asked for supporting evidence, follow that process’s requirements.

For the shared passport-date rules and file preparation, use the document checklist. There is no need to upload unrelated company paperwork into the passport-image field.

Check repeated meetings against single entry

The e-Visa described here is single entry, with a 90-day validity window and a stay of up to 30 days within its dates. A three-month validity period is not permission to make unlimited business visits or remain for three months.

Consider a schedule with meetings in Baku, a trip to another country and a planned return to Baku. Leaving Azerbaijan uses the exit for the single-entry visit. Remaining time on the visa does not make it reusable for the next entry. A recurring travel programme needs a route suited to its actual entry pattern.

Before paying, write down every planned entry and exit. If your plans require multiple entry or a longer permission, confirm a suitable consular route. Our Standard and Urgent packages change the processing option; they do not change the number of entries.

Choose a package around the trip, then review

For an eligible short-visit application, the evis.az package is $59 Standard or $99 Urgent per applicant in USD. Review the package inclusions and charge currency before payment. A company paying for several delegates still needs an accurate separate record for each traveller.

  1. Select the traveller’s passport nationality and the appropriate package.
  2. Review the preselected Business trip purpose. Change it if it does not describe the actual visit.
  3. Complete passport, identity, travel and address information from the traveller’s documents.
  4. Check the summary, the total and every delegate before continuing to payment.
  5. After issue, compare the visa’s names, passport number and dates with the traveller’s itinerary.

A meeting tomorrow does not guarantee that a new application can be completed in time. Use the Urgent timing guide to understand the processing option and allow for complete details, payment and submission.

Business e-Visa questions

Can I use a business e-Visa to start a job in Baku?

An e-Visa does not grant permission for paid labour in Azerbaijan. Confirm the appropriate employment and permit procedure with the employer before using a short-visit route.

Does Urgent provide multiple entries?

No. It is a processing option. The electronic application described on this page remains single entry.

Can my company prepare applications for several delegates?

The form allows separate travellers to be added before a combined review. Use each person’s own details, nationality and passport copy. A shared order does not become one shared visa.

Is an invitation letter the same as an e-Visa?

No. An invitation describes the proposed visit; an issued visa is a separate document. Keep relevant host information and verify any supporting-evidence requirements for your circumstances.
