Apply using the passport you hold, not where you live
“Azerbaijan visa from the UK” can mean two different things: a British citizen planning a visit, or a foreign citizen living in Britain. The departure airport is not the deciding nationality. An Indian citizen based in Manchester should not select United Kingdom merely because the journey starts there.
For an ordinary-passport e-Visa application, check the issuing nationality of the passport you will carry. Your UK immigration permission explains your status in the UK; it does not turn that passport into a British passport or automatically add an otherwise ineligible nationality to Azerbaijan’s online list.

The London embassy’s refugee-document instructions include an appointment-based application and a separate supporting-document list. For eligible Indian and Pakistani passports, the India guide and Pakistan guide own the nationality-specific requirements. Living in the UK adds practical questions about addresses, contact information and your return journey; it does not require a duplicated passport guide.
Prepare the Azerbaijan visit and UK return separately
Keep two checklists. The first is for entry into Azerbaijan using the correct passport and visa route. The second is for returning to the UK with the immigration status and travel-document arrangements applicable to you. An Azerbaijan e-Visa is not evidence of permission to re-enter the UK.
- Use the current passport. If your passport changed after a booking or an earlier visa, review every record. Do not copy an old number from a saved itinerary.
- Check name spelling. Follow the passport information requested by the form. A name formatted differently in a UK account should not be copied without comparing it with the travel document.
- Separate permanent and stay addresses. Enter the genuine information requested in each field. Your Azerbaijan hotel or host address is different from your home address.
- Check dates across the flight. A departure from Britain on one calendar date can arrive in Baku the next. Plan around entry into Azerbaijan.
- Check return-document details before travelling. Confirm that the passport and any evidence of UK status needed for the return journey are current and usable.

Complete the application with the traveller’s own details, even if a family member is helping. Review nationality, passport number, dates, purpose, accommodation and email before payment. If the passport is not listed, or you use a refugee or other non-ordinary travel document, establish the correct route before paying. An ineligible document cannot be made eligible by selecting a different nationality in the application.

UK residence and Azerbaijan visa questions
Does indefinite leave to remain make me a British citizen for the form?
No. Use the nationality of your travel passport. Immigration residence permission and citizenship are different questions.
Can an Indian or Pakistani passport holder apply while living in Britain?
Those ordinary-passport nationalities are on the e-Visa list. Check the passport and travel requirements, then select the actual nationality. A UK departure does not require selecting United Kingdom.
Can I enter Azerbaijan simply because I hold a UK or Schengen visa?
Do not assume those documents replace the Azerbaijan entry permission required for your passport. Check a specific applicable exemption or visa route; a visa for another destination is not the same as an Azerbaijan e-Visa.
Can I use a UK refugee travel document in this ordinary-passport form?
Use the separate consular procedure published for that document and confirm its requirements. Selecting a British nationality in this form would not describe a foreign citizen merely holding a UK-issued travel document.
