The short answer

Can Polish citizens apply for an Azerbaijan e-Visa?

Yes. Poland is included in Azerbaijan's e-Visa eligibility list. Polish ordinary passport holders normally need a visa for a visit; membership of the EU or Schengen area does not remove that requirement. The electronic route suits eligible short visits, while other documents, purposes or an established exemption require their own assessment.

Before you start

Three checks for your Polish passport

01

Use the passport number

PESEL identifies a person in Polish records. It is not the number to enter in a field asking for the passport document number.

02

Choose nationality correctly

A Polish address, PESEL or residence card does not necessarily mean Polish citizenship. Select the country of the passport you will actually carry.

03

Check a family booking person by person

One itinerary can contain several passports and nationalities. Review each applicant's eligibility and document details separately.

Choose your processing option

Azerbaijan e-Visa prices for Polish applicants

Choose around your intended arrival in Azerbaijan. Both packages cover the same single-entry e-Visa and permitted stay, with different processing options.

Standard e-Visa

$59USD / applicant

3 working days

For travel planned ahead. Allow extra time for document checks, public holidays and any requests for clarification.

Apply Standard — $59

Urgent e-Visa

$99USD / applicant

3-hour processing option

For a nearer departure. The urgent option operates on weekends and holidays; complete and accurate documents still matter.

Apply Urgent — $99

Each price is the total evis.az package price for one applicant. Published processing windows apply after a complete visa application is submitted. Preparation, corrections and requests for information can take additional time. Azerbaijan's authorities decide approval and entry.

Keep PESEL and passport details in their own fields

PESEL is an eleven-digit personal identifier, used by Polish citizens and some foreign residents. It describes the person rather than the particular passport. When the application asks for a passport number, read that number from the current travel document instead of substituting PESEL.

After renewal, a familiar personal identifier can remain the same while the passport changes. Check the current document's number, issue date and expiry. Correct any saved browser entries that conflict with it.

Apply using citizenship rather than a Polish residence address

Someone living in Warsaw or Kraków may travel on a passport issued by another country. A residence card or PESEL does not make the Polish passport guidance applicable. Keep the home address accurate, but choose the application nationality from the travel document.

The reverse is also true: a Polish citizen living abroad does not stop being eligible simply because the journey starts outside Poland. For dual nationals, decide which passport will be used for Azerbaijan and keep that document consistent throughout the application and travel arrangements.

Review Polish names against a readable passport image

Use the passport as the reference for surnames and given names, including additional given names requested by the form. If a Polish character or a hyphenated surname creates uncertainty, resolve the spelling before submission. Do not alternate between a nickname, an airline profile and a legal name.

For the image, check that the photograph and identity details remain readable when opened on another screen. Avoid glare over the expiry date or the bottom of the page. In a family application, give the images clear filenames and compare the selected image with the applicant before proceeding.

Work backwards from your actual arrival date

Read the arrival date on the final leg into Azerbaijan, especially for an overnight connection. A Polish departure date can differ from the arrival date. Keep both visible while comparing processing choices.

Do not assume Polish public holidays define the working calendar used to process a foreign visa. Allow time for reviewing the document image and correcting the application before it is submitted. If a departure is close, check that all passport information is final before choosing Urgent processing.

Check the issued document and your accommodation arrangements

Compare the issued visa with the passport before printing it. Save a backup separately from the paper copy, and keep the printout with your travel documents. An application acknowledgement and the issued visa serve different purposes; be clear about which document you have received.

Polish consular guidance highlights registration for stays longer than 15 days. Ask your hotel or host how the registration is handled, particularly if you use a private apartment. Keep this on the itinerary checklist alongside the return journey rather than assuming the visa application completes every arrival formality.

Keep these to hand

Your Polish passport application checklist

  • The current Polish passport intended for this journey.
  • Passport number checked independently from the PESEL number.
  • A readable photograph and identity-page image for the correct applicant.
  • The arrival date in Azerbaijan and the intended accommodation address.
  • An email address that the traveller or responsible applicant can monitor.

Check passport expiry against the visa's expiry date: the passport must remain valid for at least three months after that date. The 90-day visa window does not allow a 90-day stay; the maximum stay is 30 days.

Prepare a readable passport image and the details in the full document and passport checklist.

Questions from Polish travellers

Should I enter my PESEL as the passport number?

No. Enter the number of the passport requested by the form. PESEL is a separate personal identifier and does not replace the travel document number.

Does a Polish residence card give the same eligibility as a Polish passport?

No. Residence and citizenship are different. Check the nationality and type of the passport used for your journey, even if your address and employment are in Poland.

Can I apply using my new passport before I receive it?

Wait until you can confirm the issued document and provide its readable identity page. An expected renewal or an old scan is not a reliable basis for the new passport's application.

Is my e-Visa also my place-of-stay registration?

No. For a visit exceeding 15 days, registration is a separate step involving your accommodation and the migration authorities. Confirm the arrangements with the hotel or host.

What are the Standard and Urgent package prices for Polish applicants?

The Standard package is $59 USD per applicant; Urgent is $99 USD per applicant. These are the total evis.az application service package prices. Choose either package to carry its processing option and total into the application form.
