Azerbaijan e-Visa for Croatian Citizens

Check the rules for a Croatian citizen visiting Azerbaijan, then prepare the putovnica details for each traveller. Reverse-direction visa lists and diplomatic-passport exemptions can otherwise lead you to the wrong document checklist.

The short answer

Do Croatian citizens need an Azerbaijan visa?

Croatian ordinary passport holders need a visa and are eligible for an Azerbaijan e-Visa. Croatia’s Foreign Ministry distinguishes ordinary passports from diplomatic and service passports. This guide concerns the ordinary-passport electronic route, with an individual visa for each traveller and Standard or Urgent application options.

Before you start

Three checks for your Croatian passport

01

Check who is travelling where

Requirements for an Azerbaijani visiting Croatia do not describe a Croatian passport holder’s journey to Baku.

02

Match the passport category

An exemption listed for a diplomatic or service passport does not establish an exemption for an ordinary Croatian passport.

03

Review every family record

A shared itinerary is convenient, but names, scans, dates and visa results remain individual.

Choose your processing option

Azerbaijan e-Visa prices for Croatian applicants

Choose around your intended arrival in Azerbaijan. Both packages cover the same single-entry e-Visa and permitted stay, with different processing options.

Standard e-Visa

$59USD / applicant

3 working days

For travel planned ahead. Allow extra time for document checks, public holidays and any requests for clarification.

Apply Standard — $59

Urgent e-Visa

$99USD / applicant

3-hour processing option

For a nearer departure. The urgent option operates on weekends and holidays; complete and accurate documents still matter.

Apply Urgent — $99

Each price is the total evis.az package price for one applicant. Published processing windows apply after a complete visa application is submitted. Preparation, corrections and requests for information can take additional time. Azerbaijan's authorities decide approval and entry.

Compare package costs and traveller totals, or check the Urgent processing timeline for your trip.

Avoid the reverse-direction checklist when researching a Croatian trip

Croatia’s official visa overview contains separate sections for Croatian citizens and Azerbaijani citizens. For your trip to Azerbaijan, read the Croatian-citizen section. Instructions about an Azerbaijani applying to enter Croatia or the Schengen area serve a different journey and should not supply your e-Visa checklist.

The same overview distinguishes ordinary passports from diplomatic and service documents. Its exemption for another category should not be extended to a normal holiday passport. The routine form linked here accepts ordinary passports; confirm a different category’s arrangement before using it.

This distinction also keeps preparation focused. Do not collect a Schengen application pack simply because you found it on a bilateral visa-information page. For this application, work from the passport identity page and the personal, arrival and accommodation fields actually requested.

Copy the putovnica identity, not the OIB or identity card

Read the surname and given-name fields on the passport itself. If Croatian characters such as Č, Ć, Đ, Š or Ž appear in the printed name, follow the Latin spelling in the machine-readable zone for this form. Keep every given name rather than replacing the document identity with a nickname or a booking abbreviation.

Enter the passport document number. OIB is a personal identifier, not a substitute for that number; an osobna iskaznica also has its own separate number. Check issue date, expiry and the uploaded image against the same passport book, particularly after a recent renewal.

The upload accepts JPG, JPEG or PNG within 10 MB. Photograph or scan the whole identity page with readable machine-readable lines. A cropped portrait, an ID-card photograph or an old passport image cannot stand in for the current identity page.

One family itinerary still needs individual visa checks

Prepare a separate record for every traveller, including children. A shared email and accommodation address can be entered when accurate, but compare each person’s own passport number, names and scan. Similar family names make it especially easy to attach one person’s image to another person’s record.

Do not read an individual, family or group application facility as permission for several people to travel under one visa. Inspect the issued PDF for each traveller and print the matching result. A common payment or booking reference is not a replacement for individual identity checks.

Use each traveller’s final local arrival date in Azerbaijan. If one person joins the trip later, the first family member’s start date may be unsuitable. A visit elsewhere followed by a return to Azerbaijan needs a fresh entry assessment because the usual e-Visa is single-entry.

Compare the USD total and the travel dates before applying

Choose Standard at $59 USD per applicant or the total Urgent package at $99 USD. The displayed prices are USD, not EUR, even if you normally pay for travel in euros. Selecting a package here carries Croatia and that option into the application so you can review the total from the start.

Standard processing is three working days; Urgent is the three-hour option including holidays. Leave time for preparation, corrections and receipt of the result. A faster processing choice cannot change the passport category or create an additional entry.

The normal visa window is 90 days, with up to 30 days of stay. Passport validity must extend at least three months beyond the visa expiry. Compare those actual dates before applying, then check the issued PDF rather than assuming the hotel checkout date defines the visa’s end.

Keep these to hand

Your Croatian passport application checklist

  • Croatian-citizen entry rules for Azerbaijan selected, rather than the reverse journey.
  • Ordinary passport category confirmed before using this form.
  • Names and passport number copied from the putovnica; OIB not substituted.
  • Current identity-page image attached to the correct traveller.
  • Each family member’s arrival, visa window and passport expiry reviewed.
  • USD package choice, accommodation and email checked before payment.

Check passport expiry against the visa's expiry date: the passport must remain valid for at least three months after that date. The 90-day visa window does not allow a 90-day stay; the maximum stay is 30 days.

Prepare a readable passport image and the details in the full document and passport checklist.

Use the passport for this trip, upload a readable biodata page, and add your contact and accommodation details.

Questions from Croatian travellers

Does Croatia’s diplomatic-passport exemption apply to my ordinary passport?

No. The official overview distinguishes passport categories. Ordinary Croatian passport holders need a visa and can use the eligible e-Visa route; a diplomatic or service exemption should not be copied across.

Should I use the checklist for Azerbaijani citizens visiting Croatia?

No. That describes the opposite direction of travel. For a Croatian passport holder visiting Baku, use the Croatian-citizen guidance for entry into Azerbaijan.

Is OIB the passport number required by the application?

No. Enter the document number from the travelling passport. OIB and an identity-card number are separate identifiers.

Can one Croatian family visa cover everyone on our booking?

Each traveller needs an individual passport record and matching visa result. A shared itinerary, email or payment does not make one person’s visa cover the family.

Should I print the visa if I already have the PDF on my phone?

Yes. Croatia’s country guidance says the electronic visa should be printed. First compare each PDF with the matching passport and travel dates, then carry that printed result.

What are the Standard and Urgent package prices for Croatian applicants?

The Standard package is $59 USD per applicant; Urgent is $99 USD per applicant. These are the total evis.az application service package prices. Choose either package to carry its processing option and total into the application form.

Different rules may apply to diplomatic, service, emergency or other travel documents, or to travellers with a qualifying residence permit.
