Azerbaijan e-Visa for Danish Citizens
Before applying, establish whether your Danish passport is an ordinary current book, an extended passport or a provisional document. Denmark’s Azerbaijan guidance gives different answers for these situations, including an exit-only statement that should not be read as entry permission.

The short answer
Do Danish citizens need a visa for Azerbaijan?
Danish ordinary passport holders need a visa and Denmark is eligible for the Azerbaijan e-Visa. Danish Foreign Ministry guidance says extended Danish passports are not recognised and describes provisional Danish passports as recognised for exit. Check any exceptional document with the relevant representation before using an ordinary-passport application.

Three checks for your Danish passport
Renewal is not an extension
A newly issued ordinary passport and an old passport with an extension are different documents. Check which one you hold.
Exit wording is not entry clearance
A provisional passport’s stated recognition for departure should not be turned into permission to arrive on an e-Visa.
Use the electronic-visa advice
Denmark’s page gives a specific six-month arrival-validity statement for electronic visas. Do not overlook it when reading a general passport line.

Identify whether your Danish passport needs a special check
Denmark’s Azerbaijan passport-and-visa page states that extended Danish passports are not recognised. A newly issued ordinary passport is not the same as an older book whose validity was extended. If arranging a last-minute journey, establish which document you will receive before choosing a visa service.
The same advice says Danish provisional passports are recognised for exit and EU emergency passports are not recognised. Exit wording does not establish that a provisional document can be used to enter Azerbaijan or obtain an e-Visa. Confirm the actual entry arrangement rather than applying through the ordinary-passport category on that assumption.
Transit is another document check: an intermediate country may assess an emergency or provisional passport differently. Resolve that route with the relevant authorities and carrier. The Urgent package changes processing speed, not the recognition of a passport by Azerbaijan or a connecting destination.
Do not confuse general passport wording with the e-Visa requirement
Denmark’s guidance specifically identifies at least six months of passport validity on entry when using an electronic visa. Its general passport section uses a different validity statement. Read the electronic-visa line for the route you are considering and recheck an exceptional or near-expiry document before applying.
Also compare expiry with the electronic visa condition requiring the passport to remain valid at least three months after the visa end date. A brief visit’s flight home is not the reference date for that calculation. Check the proposed visa window, passport expiry and local arrival together.
If you renew, enter the new book’s number and dates and upload its page. Do not pair the replacement details with a scan of the old book. After issuance, ensure the PDF matches the passport that will be carried; a name match alone does not settle a different document number.
Start with Denmark already selected.
Use passport identity rather than CPR or an account profile
CPR identifies a person in Denmark; it is not the passport document number requested here. Copy the number from the passport identity page, with issue and expiry dates from the same book. A saved airline account may retain old details after renewal, so do not use it as the primary source.
For names containing Æ, Ø or Å, use the machine-readable Latin spelling shown in the passport for this form. Keep the passport’s surname and given-name division, including all given names. Do not invent your own letter substitution or remove a name because it is not used in everyday conversation.
Prepare the complete identity page in JPG, JPEG or PNG format, at most 10 MB. Keep its machine-readable lines legible and inspect the upload preview. This is a passport-page request rather than a separate portrait upload or a Danish health-card check.
Choose the package after the passport is settled
Standard costs $59 USD per applicant; Urgent costs $99 USD in total. They are USD service packages, not DKK quotations. Selecting either option here preselects Denmark and the processing choice in the application, where the total can be reviewed.
Standard uses three working days. Urgent is the three-hour option including weekends and holidays. Leave time for preparing and correcting the application, and use the local arrival date on the last flight into Azerbaijan rather than the departure date from Denmark.
The normal visa is single-entry with a maximum 30-day stay during its 90-day validity. Check any planned departure and return separately. Enter your full accommodation address and reachable email, then inspect and print the issued visa with its matching ordinary passport before travel.
Keep these to hand
Your Danish passport application checklist
- Current ordinary Danish passport distinguished from an extension or provisional document.
- Any exceptional document and transit recognition checked before choosing the visa route.
- Electronic-visa arrival guidance and validity beyond the visa expiry both reviewed.
- Passport number used instead of CPR; complete Latin passport names retained.
- New passport details and current identity-page image matched after any renewal.
- Final arrival, accommodation, accessible email and USD package total checked.
Check passport expiry against the visa's expiry date: the passport must remain valid for at least three months after that date. The 90-day visa window does not allow a 90-day stay; the maximum stay is 30 days.
Prepare a readable passport image and the details in the full document and passport checklist.

Questions from Danish travellers
Can I apply with a Danish passport whose validity was extended?
Denmark’s Azerbaijan guidance says extended Danish passports are not recognised. Resolve the document before applying; a new ordinary passport is different from an extension of the old one.
Does recognition of a Danish provisional passport for exit also allow entry?
Do not assume that. The published wording concerns exit. Confirm entry and visa arrangements for the exact provisional document before using an ordinary-passport form.
Which Danish passport-validity line applies to an electronic visa?
The Danish page specifically gives at least six months on arrival for electronic visas. Also check the visa condition measuring three months beyond visa expiry and resolve a passport near either limit before applying.
Can I type my CPR number as the passport number?
No. Enter the number on the passport identity page you upload. CPR and a passport document number are separate identifiers.
Will choosing Urgent solve an extended or provisional passport problem?
No. Urgent changes the processing option, not a country’s recognition of your document. Confirm the correct passport and route before payment.
What are the Standard and Urgent package prices for Danish applicants?
The Standard package is $59 USD per applicant; Urgent is $99 USD per applicant. These are the total evis.az application service package prices. Choose either package to carry its processing option and total into the application form.
