Can Norwegian citizens get an Azerbaijan e-Visa?
Norwegian citizens with ordinary passports need a visa and are eligible for an Azerbaijan e-Visa. A Norwegian emergency passport, or nødpass, follows a different route: Norway’s Foreign Ministry says a visa must be arranged through Azerbaijan’s embassy in Stockholm before travel, rather than through the electronic route.

An emergency passport needs a different decision before checkout
Norway’s Azerbaijan travel advice explicitly separates the nødpass from an ordinary passport. It says emergency-passport holders cannot obtain an e-Visa and must arrange a visa through Azerbaijan’s embassy in Stockholm before departure. If your passport was lost or damaged, confirm the replacement document’s category before restarting an online application.
This form supports ordinary passports. Do not select that category for a nødpass merely because the same name and nationality appear on it. Choosing Urgent changes the processing option; it does not remove a document restriction or establish consular acceptance.
A Norwegian national identity card also should not be treated as a general passport replacement for this journey. Norway’s description of national-ID travel rights concerns particular destinations. For the ordinary electronic application, prepare the passport book actually intended for entry into Azerbaijan.
Use the passport-validity margin and the current processing clock
Norway’s country advice identifies a six-month passport-validity margin from planned arrival. The electronic visa condition measures at least three months beyond the visa expiry. Check both reference dates against the current passport, particularly if applying well before travel or considering renewal.
The usual visa allows up to 30 days of stay in a 90-day window. A short holiday does not shorten the passport-validity calculation to the date of the return flight. Resolve a near-expiry document before applying, then use the replacement passport’s details consistently.
For Standard, plan around three working days. Some country summaries use a 72-hour description, but that should not be read as a promise of three calendar days across a weekend or public holiday. Urgent is the three-hour processing option including non-working days. Both require time for accurate preparation and any corrections.

Read the passport’s Latin identity and replace old details together
Copy surname and every given name from the passport fields. For names containing Æ, Ø or Å, follow the Latin spelling in the machine-readable zone required by this form. Do not guess a replacement spelling or remove a middle name because an earlier booking omitted it.
Enter the passport’s document number rather than a fødselsnummer or national-ID number. When renewing, check number, issue date, expiry and uploaded page as one set. A saved image of the previous passport and newly typed details of the replacement do not describe the same document.
Provide a full, readable identity-page image as JPG, JPEG or PNG, no larger than 10 MB. Keep the machine-readable lines visible. Before payment, compare the preview and summary with the physical book; after issuance, compare the PDF with that same travelling passport.
Check the USD total and the shape of your journey
Standard is $59 USD per applicant and the total Urgent package is $99 USD. These are not NOK quotations. The package link preselects Norway and the processing option in the form; review that total before proceeding to checkout.
On a connecting itinerary from Norway, choose the final local arrival date in Azerbaijan. An overnight connection can put Baku arrival on a later day than departure from Oslo or another Norwegian airport. Enter the actual accommodation address and an email accessible while travelling.
The ordinary e-Visa is single-entry. A plan to leave Azerbaijan and return needs a separate entry check, not just unused days in the visa window. Confirm current transport and border arrangements for that itinerary, then print the issued result and carry it with the matching passport.

- Passport expiry checked using both arrival advice and the visa end date.
- Surname and all given names follow the passport’s required Latin spelling.
- Passport number, dates and current identity-page upload match after any renewal.
- Final Azerbaijan arrival and any departure-and-return plan reviewed.
- Working-day timing, reachable email, accommodation and USD total confirmed.
Check passport expiry against the visa's expiry date: the passport must remain valid for at least three months after that date. The 90-day visa window does not allow a 90-day stay; the maximum stay is 30 days.

Can I obtain an Azerbaijan e-Visa with a Norwegian nødpass?
Norway’s Foreign Ministry says an emergency passport cannot use the e-Visa route. Arrange the appropriate visa through Azerbaijan’s embassy in Stockholm before departure and confirm acceptance of the exact document.
Will the Urgent package make my emergency passport eligible?
No. A faster processing option does not change the passport category. Resolve the nødpass route before using or paying for an ordinary-passport application.
Does Standard mean 72 calendar hours from a Friday?
Plan using the current three-working-day Standard window. A 72-hour description should not be assumed to include weekends and holidays. The three-hour Urgent option is separate.
Should I type my fødselsnummer in the passport-number field?
No. Use the number of the passport identity page being uploaded. A personal identification number and a national-ID document number are different identifiers.
Can I travel with a replacement passport and the old passport’s e-Visa?
Do not assume a visa linked to a different passport will be valid for the replacement. Resolve the visa position before travelling and keep the application, PDF and passport identity consistent.
