Do Portuguese citizens need a visa for Azerbaijan?
Portuguese ordinary passport holders normally need a visa and are eligible for the Azerbaijan e-Visa route. The standard electronic permission is single-entry and allows up to 30 days within a 90-day visa window. Portugal’s arrangements for diplomatic and special passports should not be read as visa-free access for an ordinary passport.

The Cartão de Cidadão does not replace this passport-based visa
Portugal’s identification guidance distinguishes the citizen card from the passport and describes the card’s recognised European travel uses. Azerbaijan is a separate destination check. For the electronic application here, have the passport identity page available and use the number of the passport you will present to the airline.
A Portuguese residence permit and Portuguese citizenship also answer different questions. If you live in Portugal but travel on a Brazilian or another country’s passport, select that passport’s nationality. Do not choose Portugal solely because the address, tax record or residence card is Portuguese.

The agreement published in Portugal’s Diário da República concerns specified diplomatic, service and special passport categories. Its existence does not establish visa-free tourist travel on a regular Portuguese passport. Check the document actually being used before deciding whether the ordinary e-Visa route is appropriate.
An emergency or temporary passport presents another question: being issued a document for urgent travel does not itself confirm that a destination or electronic system accepts it. Obtain confirmation for the exact document and route before purchasing this routine package. Urgent e-Visa processing is not a passport-issuance service.

Keep given names, family names and NIF separate
Read surname and given-name entries as labelled on the passport page, using the Latin spelling in its machine-readable lines as the form requests. A banking app may omit words or use a shorter everyday form. Review compound names before continuing; do not move a family name into another field merely because a booking screen arranged the words differently.
The NIF is not the passport document number. For the passport field, use the number on the current travel document and compare it with the uploaded image. If marriage, a name change or renewal has left different names in your records, resolve the inconsistency against the passport intended for this trip before submission.
Check the Baku arrival and the full visa window
Follow the itinerary through to arrival in Azerbaijan. A departure from Lisbon, Porto or another airport may involve a connection and a different local arrival date. Choose the required visa start from that final segment rather than the first flight leaving Portugal. Recheck the dates if a connection changes.
Passport validity must extend at least three months beyond the e-Visa expiry. Count from the visa end date, not simply the end of a weekend or week-long trip. A 90-day visa window still normally permits only up to 30 days of stay and one entry. A departure to another country followed by a return to Baku requires another entry assessment.
Compare the USD total before moving from the guide to payment
Standard is $59 USD per applicant, with a three-working-day processing window. Urgent is $99 USD in total, with a three-hour option including weekends and holidays. These are evis.az package totals in US dollars, not euro quotations or an embassy fee alone. The Urgent total is not added to Standard.
A package action opens the form with Portugal and the selected processing option ready. Check each traveller’s identity, arrival, accommodation and email, then review the amount before checkout. Children need their own passport-based applications. After issuance, inspect and print the matching PDFs; an application receipt is not the visa needed for travel.

Check passport expiry against the visa's expiry date: the passport must remain valid for at least three months after that date. The 90-day visa window does not allow a 90-day stay; the maximum stay is 30 days.

Can I use my Portuguese Cartão de Cidadão for this e-Visa?
Use the passport that will be carried for Azerbaijan. The citizen card’s recognised travel uses do not replace the passport identity page required for this electronic application.
Does Portugal’s passport agreement make an ordinary tourist visa-free?
Do not infer that from an agreement covering diplomatic, service or special passports. This guide concerns ordinary Portuguese passports, which are eligible for the e-Visa route and normally require a visa.
Can I apply as Portuguese if I live in Portugal on a foreign passport?
Select the nationality of the passport being used, rather than the country of residence or tax registration. Check the rules for that actual passport and any individual entry exception.
Should I enter my NIF in the passport-number field?
No. Read the travel-document number from the current passport. The NIF, citizen-card number and an older passport number are not substitutes.
