Azerbaijan e-Visa for Romanian Citizens

For a Romanian passport trip to Azerbaijan, prepare the visa and the departure documents as separate tasks. Families should check children’s travel arrangements early, while every applicant should review the passport number, arrival date and selected package before payment.

The short answer

Do Romanian citizens need an Azerbaijan e-Visa?

Romanian ordinary passport holders normally need a visa to visit Azerbaijan and are eligible for the e-Visa route. The usual electronic visa permits a single entry and a stay of up to 30 days within a 90-day window. It does not replace a child’s own travel document or the separate rules governing departure from Romania.

Before you start

Three checks for your Romanian passport

01

Check the child’s departure paperwork

Romanian Border Police rules can require parental consent depending on the accompanying adult and circumstances. A visa alone does not settle that requirement.

02

Use the passport document number

The number requested for the travel document is not your CNP or the identity-card series and number. Read it from the passport being uploaded.

03

Distinguish short visits from other visas

The embassy describes electronic tourist visas and a separate consular process. Multiple-entry or other long-term needs should be clarified before buying a short-visit package.

Choose your processing option

Azerbaijan e-Visa prices for Romanian applicants

Choose around your intended arrival in Azerbaijan. Both packages cover the same single-entry e-Visa and permitted stay, with different processing options.

Standard e-Visa

$59USD / applicant

3 working days

For travel planned ahead. Allow extra time for document checks, public holidays and any requests for clarification.

Apply Standard — $59

Urgent e-Visa

$99USD / applicant

3-hour processing option

For a nearer departure. The urgent option operates on weekends and holidays; complete and accurate documents still matter.

Apply Urgent — $99

Each price is the total evis.az package price for one applicant. Published processing windows apply after a complete visa application is submitted. Preparation, corrections and requests for information can take additional time. Azerbaijan's authorities decide approval and entry.

A child’s Azerbaijan visa and consent to leave Romania are separate

Romanian Border Police guidance sets out different departure situations for minors travelling with both parents, one parent or another accompanying adult. Consent documentation and exceptions depend on the circumstances. Establish which situation applies before the trip; do not assume that purchasing a visa settles parental-authority or departure checks.

Prepare an individual application for each child using that child’s passport. Keep any required original travel-consent or supporting documents separately for the journey. They are not a reason to replace the passport identity page with a birth certificate in the visa upload. Where custody, residence abroad or an exception affects the trip, use current Border Police guidance for the specific arrangement.

Use pașaport details rather than a CNP or identity-card record

Start from the passport you will present on arrival. In a passport-number field, enter the document number from that passport, not the CNP used for domestic identification. A Romanian address or identity card should not cause you to select Romanian nationality for someone travelling on another country’s passport.

Check the name and dates directly from the identity page. Do not let a saved scan from before renewal supply the document number, even if the name has not changed. If a temporary or other non-standard document will be used, confirm its acceptance and visa route individually instead of treating all Romanian-issued travel documents as an ordinary passport.

Choose the electronic short-visit route for the right purpose

The Azerbaijani Embassy in Bucharest describes a tourist e-Visa route separately from its consular visa process. Requirements published for a consular application should not automatically be treated as extra uploads in this short online form. Here, prepare the passport page and requested travel, identity, contact and accommodation details.

Check the purpose honestly. If the visit involves employment, a lengthy stay or repeated entries, establish the appropriate permission before purchasing a single-entry package. An embassy fee quoted for another process is not the same product as the evis.az service total, and should not be used to infer what this checkout will charge.

Review the visa start date and passport expiry together

Choose the date the traveller actually reaches Azerbaijan. When travelling via another airport, read the final segment rather than assuming the departure date from Bucharest is also the arrival date in Baku. A late-night flight or a changed connection can move the date.

For the passport expiry check, the e-Visa rule uses at least three months after the visa ends. It does not count from the date you fill the form or from the end of a brief hotel booking. If a replacement passport will be used, complete renewal first and ensure the typed number, uploaded image and carried document all refer to it.

Choose a package and review every family member before checkout

Standard is $59 USD per applicant, with a three-working-day processing window. Urgent is $99 USD per applicant, with a three-hour processing option including weekends and holidays. These are USD package totals, not RON prices; the Urgent amount is not added to Standard. Choose a realistic window after preparing complete details.

Check the review for each person before continuing to payment. In a family group, make sure a parent’s name or passport number has not been copied into a child’s record. When visas are issued, print the correct PDF for each passport and compare entry dates and stay. Arrange place-of-stay registration separately if the stay exceeds 15 days.

Keep these to hand

Your Romanian passport application checklist

  • The Romanian passport actually intended for the journey.
  • Passport number checked separately from CNP and identity-card details.
  • Current readable identity-page image and matching name/date entries.
  • Child departure-consent requirements assessed for the accompanying adult.
  • Baku arrival date, accommodation address and accessible email.
  • A separate record, package and review for every traveller.

Check passport expiry against the visa's expiry date: the passport must remain valid for at least three months after that date. The 90-day visa window does not allow a 90-day stay; the maximum stay is 30 days.

Prepare a readable passport image and the details in the full document and passport checklist.

Questions from Romanian travellers

Does an Azerbaijan e-Visa replace Romanian parental-consent documents?

No. A child’s visa and the conditions for leaving Romania are separate. Check current Border Police requirements for who accompanies the child and any applicable exception, and prepare the required travel documents before departure.

Should I enter my CNP as the passport number?

No. Enter the number of the passport being used for this journey. The CNP and identity-card details identify different records and should not replace the passport document number.

Does a Romanian child need an individual e-Visa application?

Yes. Prepare a separate application with the child’s own passport details and identity-page image. A parent’s visa does not cover the child, even when applications are organised and paid together.

Are the Standard and Urgent package prices in Romanian lei?

No. The published totals are $59 USD per applicant for Standard or $99 USD for Urgent. Review the charge currency and total at checkout, and any conversion terms applied by your card issuer.

Can I use this package for a multiple-entry Azerbaijan visa?

These packages concern a single-entry e-Visa. If the itinerary requires repeated arrivals or a different category of stay, establish the appropriate visa arrangement before buying a short-visit package.

What are the Standard and Urgent package prices for Romanian applicants?

The Standard package is $59 USD per applicant; Urgent is $99 USD per applicant. These are the total evis.az application service package prices. Choose either package to carry its processing option and total into the application form.
