Are Vietnamese passport holders eligible for an Azerbaijan e-Visa?
Yes. Vietnam is on Azerbaijan’s e-Visa eligibility list. Ordinary Vietnamese passport holders normally need a visa; diplomatic or service-passport agreements should not be treated as an ordinary-passport exemption. This guide helps prepare the name, document and travel details for an individual electronic application.

A CCCD, CMND or personal identification number is different from the passport number required for this journey.

Country of birth is required. Place of birth is optional if not stated in the passport; do not invent a missing entry.

Map Họ and Chữ đệm và tên to the application accurately
Keep the passport identity page beside the form and read its field labels. Họ identifies the surname; Chữ đệm và tên includes middle and given names. Enter the names belonging to each field rather than reversing the entire name because a booking website or social account displays it differently.
The given-name field needs all the given names shown by the travelling passport. Do not drop a middle name to shorten an entry. Where Vietnamese diacritics differ from the machine-readable Latin spelling, follow the Latin spelling in the passport’s machine-readable zone required by this form instead of creating a new translation.
Compare the name fields together on the review screen. A full name can look familiar even when its surname and given-name division is wrong. If the document or its division is unclear, resolve that before payment rather than substituting an invented surname, nickname or placeholder.
Read each birthplace field and upload the current identity page
Country of birth and place of birth are separate fields in this application. Country is required. For place of birth, enter the place stated in the passport; if the passport does not state one, the field can remain blank. Do not replace a missing passport entry with a guessed city or the current home address.
The passport-number field needs the number of the travel document, not a CCCD, CMND or personal identifier. Check the issue and expiry dates on that same passport. If a new book has been issued, remove old document details and use the new identity-page image throughout.
Upload the complete page as JPG, JPEG or PNG within 10 MB, including the machine-readable lines. A separate portrait, a Vietnamese identity card or a screenshot of typed names does not replace that page. Inspect the preview for readability before continuing.

Ordinary passports and special-passport agreements are different
Azerbaijan lists visa-exemption agreements for diplomatic, service or official passport categories, including an agreement with Vietnam. Such an agreement should not be read as a general visa-free rule for ordinary Vietnamese holiday passports. Identify the category printed on the actual document.
This application supports ordinary passports. If travelling on a diplomatic, service, emergency or other special document, confirm its proper arrangement before choosing this route. A Vietnamese residence address alone also does not make a foreign passport a Vietnamese one; eligibility follows the travelling document.
For two passport holders travelling together, each record still needs the correct nationality and document. A shared hotel and email do not justify copying one traveller’s identity into the other application. Review each result separately when the visas arrive.
Select processing from Baku arrival, not Vietnam departure
Use the local arrival date on the final flight into Azerbaijan. A journey from Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City with a connection can cross calendar dates. When changing flights, compare the revised arrival with the requested start and, after issuance, with the dates printed on the visa.
Standard is $59 USD per applicant and Urgent is $99 USD in total. The amounts are USD rather than VND quotations. Standard processing takes three working days; the three-hour Urgent option includes weekends and holidays. Include preparation and correction time before departure when deciding.
The normal e-Visa is single-entry, allowing up to 30 days within a 90-day window. Passport validity must extend at least three months beyond visa expiry. Review a second arrival separately if leaving and returning. Provide the full accommodation address and a reachable email, then inspect and print the issued PDF for the same passport.

- Ordinary Vietnamese passport identified separately from special-passport agreements.
- Surname and all middle/given names mapped from the passport labels and Latin spelling.
- Actual passport number used rather than CCCD, CMND or another personal identifier.
- Required country of birth completed; place of birth follows what the passport states.
- Current identity-page upload, expiry margin and final Azerbaijan arrival checked.
- Accommodation, accessible email and selected USD processing total reviewed.
Check passport expiry against the visa's expiry date: the passport must remain valid for at least three months after that date. The 90-day visa window does not allow a 90-day stay; the maximum stay is 30 days.

Where do Vietnamese middle names go in this application?
Follow the travelling passport’s surname and given-name labels. Keep the middle and given names shown in the given-name field, using its machine-readable Latin spelling; do not drop them to match a casual English name.
Must I fill place of birth if it is not stated in my Vietnamese passport?
Country of birth is required, but place of birth can remain blank when not stated in the passport. If the passport states a place, use that entry. Do not invent a city to fill a missing field.
Can I use my CCCD or CMND number as the passport number?
No. Enter the number of the travelling passport and upload that passport’s identity page. A Vietnamese identity-card number is a separate identifier.
Does a diplomatic-passport agreement make ordinary Vietnamese passports visa-free?
No. Agreements restricted to diplomatic, service or official documents should not be extended to ordinary passports. Vietnam is eligible for the ordinary electronic visa route.
Should my visa start on the day I leave Hanoi?
Use the local arrival date into Azerbaijan on your final flight. A connecting journey can arrive on a different date from departure in Vietnam, so compare the actual itinerary and visa dates.
