What do you need for an Azerbaijan e-Visa?
For this ordinary-passport, single-entry application, prepare your passport photo page, personal and travel details, an accessible email address, a mobile number and your accommodation address in Azerbaijan. Each traveller needs their own passport details and application record.

Check eligibility using the nationality of the passport you will travel with. Your country of residence and country of birth are separate questions. If you hold two passports, use the eligible passport consistently in the form and when travelling.
Passport scan and photo requirements
Upload one JPG, JPEG or PNG image, up to 10 MB, showing the full passport photo page. A separate passport-style portrait is not required in this application. PDF files are not accepted by the passport uploader.
A readable image should show
- All four edges of the photo page, without cropped corners.
- The photograph, passport number, names and dates in focus.
- The complete machine-readable lines at the bottom.
- Even lighting with no glare, fingers or shadows covering information.
Taking a photo with your phone
Open the passport flat, hold the camera directly above it and use bright, indirect light. Check the saved image at full size before uploading. A screenshot of a small preview can lose the detail needed to read the document.
If the file exceeds 10 MB, resize or compress a copy while keeping every character legible. Keep the original for your records.
How long must your passport be valid?
Your passport must remain valid for more than three calendar months after the e-Visa expiry date. Calculate from the visa's final validity date, rather than only your planned departure date. The application checks the passport expiry against your requested visa start date.
For a visa validity period beginning 21 October 2026, the 90-day period ends on 18 January 2027, counting the first day. Our form requires a passport expiry of 19 April 2027 or later for that start date.
A 90-day validity window does not mean a 90-day stay: this single-entry e-Visa permits a stay of up to 30 days within its validity dates. Check the dates on the issued visa before travelling. Passport-specific entry guidance may add considerations beyond this application check.
Avoid the details that cause application mistakes
Example: an Indian passport and a UK residence address
If you travel on an Indian passport while living in the United Kingdom, select India as the country of your travel document. Enter your current UK address under permanent residence. For country of birth, use the country shown in your own birth details. Residence and birthplace do not replace passport nationality. This is an illustrative example, not a customer case.
Copy names and passport numbers carefully
Use the Latin spelling in the passport's machine-readable lines and include every given name. Leave the surname blank only when the passport has no surname; do not add “FNU”, “XXX” or a dash. Enter passport letters and numbers without spaces or symbols.
Keep contact and stay details accurate
Use an email address you can access for application updates and visa delivery. Include the country code in your mobile number. For accommodation, enter the full property or host address, including the city; a hotel name alone may leave the address incomplete.
The accommodation address is required. A hotel reservation PDF, flight ticket, bank statement, employer letter or separate portrait is not a standard required upload in this evis.az application flow. Other visa routes and entry checks can have different requirements.
Preparing applications for a family or group
Prepare one passport image and a separate set of personal details for every traveller, including children. Add each person to the application group and check that their passport copy belongs to their own record. Shared travel plans do not replace an individual traveller's details.

Do I need a separate passport photo?
No separate portrait is required in this application. Upload the complete passport photo page, including the photograph already printed in your passport and the machine-readable lines.
Can I photograph my passport instead of scanning it?
Yes, a clear phone photograph can be used if the full photo page is visible and readable. Save it as JPG, JPEG or PNG, no larger than 10 MB. Check for glare and blurred text before uploading.
Do I need to upload flight tickets or a hotel booking?
They are not standard required uploads in this application flow. You do need to enter your full accommodation address in Azerbaijan. Requirements for other visa routes or travel checks may differ.
Should I select where I live or my passport nationality?
Select the nationality of the passport you will use for travel. Enter your residence address and country of birth in their separate fields. A residence permit does not change the nationality printed in your passport.
Can I use one passport copy for the whole family?
No. Each traveller needs their own application record and passport image, including children. Check the document and personal details for each person before confirming the group.
What if I renew my passport after applying?
The e-Visa is linked to the passport details used in the application. An approval issued for the old passport cannot simply be treated as an approval for the replacement. Use the passport you will travel with when preparing your application.
